Dennis and Linda Vik opened the Albuquerque House of Bread Bakery Café in 2008. The Vik’s were passionate about Bread and taking the big leap to become business owners. Dennis, a former scientist and Linda who taught music would join the ranks of successful franchisees and open the first House of Bread Bakery Café in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The bakery is located in the Altura Shops at 2000 Carlisle Blvd. NE, just south of Indian School Road.
The unique micro-bakery features over twenty-five premium breads and serves a tempting assortment of cinnamon rolls, muffins, and scones all made from scratch every day. The Vik’s also serve a mix of cookies, brownies, berry bars and other grab and go treats. The bakery & café offers a healthy lunch selection daily, featuring hot soup, salads and sandwiches that are made with premium quality Boar’s Head meats served on fresh baked breads. A selection of quality coffees featuring freshly ground organic coffee beans from Aroma Coffee is also available.
Visit the House of Bread Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sundays 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, and treat yourself to the experience of watching bakers engage in the age-old trade of kneading each loaf by hand while you enjoy free samples of their work.
